After leaving my first meeting with Girl Inc. of Greater Houston, I was surprised with how comfortable and open everyone was during group discussions. The Girls Inc. staff and my classmates all felt united. Girls Inc. has taught me to maintain a culture of trust, not only within our sessions but outside of them too. Being Chair for the Ladies of Chinquapin, the women’s empowerment organization sponsored at my school by Girls Inc. of Greater Houston, has been the most impactful part of learning to be a leader.
