Girls are bold; but currently society rewards them for passive behavior and dependence. Girls Inc. offers programs that develop the whole girl and encourage self- sufficiency and independent.
Girls Inc. BOLD programs help girls build life skills to set and achieve goals, have healthy relationships, and increase resilience in the face of obstacles to live productive and fulfilling lives. Media Literacy programs teach girls to defy stereotypical depictions of women in popular culture, increase their awareness of the scope and power of the media and the effects of media messages on girls and women. In the Girls Inc. Project BOLD program, girls learn skills and strategies to lead safer lives in their homes, in relationships, in their communities, and online. Girls learn how to seek out and talk to caring adults about personal violence. Older girls also take on a community action project to advocate for a safer world for all women and girls.
Girls Inc. Bold programs, activities, and experiences build the learning, skills, and behaviors that enable girls to function independently and live a productive and fulfilling life leading to:

- Sound body image (which is related to self-confidence);
- Using her own voice & advocate for others;
- Increased persistence and resilience;
- Improved self and emotional control

For this holiday season consider the Gift of Camp for the Holidays. We offer camp scholarships to girls who want to attend our spring break and summer day camps but have limited resources. For many girls, this scholarship fund is the only way for them to attend camp. While any amount is welcomed and will help send girls to camp, a gift of $500 will fund a whole camp experience for one girl.
